DIN 84 is a bolt with a cylinder head and a saw slot for drive. The saw slot or saw cut is a straight cut across that allows screws to be driven in with a standard straight screwdriver of the correct size. When larger forces are required for tightening, other drives are generally preferred. For example, torx is particularly popular but a cross slot can also be used. With all drives, it is especially important to use the right size screwdriver or bit. DIN 84 screw with cylinder head with saw slot is available in thickness sizes M3 to M6. DIN 84 has the designation ISO 1207 in the international system.
